The Easter weekend was an extremely busy time for two Sandbach Striders, Chairman Michael Escolme and Coaching Officer Jason Bulley. Whilst most of us enjoyed a restful l 4 day bank holiday, they both decided that 3 marathons in 3 consecutive days would be a great idea.

Broad Meadow (Marathon) – Friday 29th March

Starting from Carriages Cafe (a refurbished railway carriage), on the Greenway just outside Stratford-on-Avon. This was an off-road marathon that also required navigation skills. Running on tracks and bridleways the route consists of 2 laps of 5 miles, 1 lap of 15 miles and a final lap of the racecourse. This is a small (limited to 50 runners), friendly but nevertheless competitive race.

South Cheshire Harriers hosted their popular 10K race on Easter Sunday. It took place on a course that promised to be the fastest road race in Cheshire. With minimal elevation, the majority of the route follows wide pathways making it safe for experienced and inexperienced runners alike.
