Race Report: Age UK Wrap Up & Run 10k 01/03/2015

Thankfully the rain stayed off as we approached Tatton Park. However it was cold and very windy. This was the first race for me since last June so I did not know what time to expect but hoped I’d get under the hour today.
Elane, Matt, Denis and Liz at the Age UK Tatton Park 10k

The race began at 10.00am with a field of over 1250 runners. We started on the path and soon turned into the wooded area which was slippery underfoot. The course was one loop of the park and there were sections where it was undulating and muddy.  Unfortunately the wind picked up and did not get behind us (cross wind).  At about 6K I started to overtake some runners and managed to get round the course in a time of 57.29 which was very pleasing as I have done the Yuletide Yomp in a freezing cold December morning in just over 1.05. Ion total 5 striders ran this race today and everyone did a good time despite the weather and the mud.

The full results were:

00:54:13 Matt Wood
00:57:28 Liz O’Keeffe
00:58:36 Denis Culloty
01:00:12 Elaine Wood
01:12:28 Denise Dowling
01:12:28 Gayle Robson
