About us

Sandbach Striders was born back in 2003. Since the early days, membership has grown with a firm ethos of the club being not just about running but social activities as well. The club is affiliated to UK AAA and has its own qualified coaches. Many other special events take place on various nights too.

The club meets on Wednesdays at 18:30 and Sundays at 09:00 at Elworth Cricket Club.

Whilst many members compete in races from 5k to Marathons, the emphasis remains purely on keeping people motivated and having fun. Why not scan through our race reports to see what we’ve been up to? Having read them, you’re sure to see why Sandbach Striders has developed the motto of being

Entries now open for the Sandbach 10k 06/09/2015 sponsored by Butcher & Barlow!

 Entries are still available for the 10th Anniversary of the Sandbach 10k & Family Fun Run sponsored by Butcher and Barlow.

 Sunday 6th September 2015 -11.00am
There will be an array of family friendly activities going on before, during and after the run including:
  • Face painting
  • Bouncy castle
  • Live music
  • Cricket taster sessions
  • Ultimate Frisbee 
  • Arts and craft activities
  • Cake decorating
  • BBQ
All proceeds are donated to the South Cheshire branch of The Samaritans.

Under UKA Rules – licence applied for
Race limit 200 - minimum age 16 years

 10k multi-terrain race 
Half (approx.) mile Children’s fun run starts (10.20am)

  • Free car parking
  • Prizes to 1st three Males & Females
